Mariez
PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25
Last updated: May 1, 2026
PIPEDA is Canada's federal private-sector privacy law. In Quebec, private-sector organizations are also governed by Quebec's privacy framework, modernized by Law 25. This page summarizes how Mariez intends to align with those obligations.
1. Privacy Responsibility
Mariez assigns responsibility for privacy practices and publishes a contact point for privacy questions, access requests, correction requests and incident follow-up.
2. Limited Collection
We design product flows to collect only information that is useful for planning and managing a wedding, operating accounts, processing subscriptions and supporting customers.
3. Transparency and Consent
We explain our purposes in our privacy policy and product experience. Where the law requires consent, we aim to request it in clear language and avoid bundling unrelated purposes.
4. Safeguards and Providers
We apply safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of wedding and guest data. Service providers are expected to use personal information only for authorized service purposes and to protect it with reasonable measures.
5. Access, Correction and Withdrawal
Users may request access to, correction of or withdrawal of consent for their personal information, subject to identity verification, contractual needs, technical limits and legal exceptions.
6. Confidentiality Incidents
We aim to assess confidentiality incidents, reduce harm, keep appropriate records and notify affected individuals or regulators where required by applicable law.
