Becoming a Mariez Vendor: The Complete Guide, From Sign-Up to Your First Published Service

You are a photographer, caterer, florist, DJ, venue, or officiant, and you want couples planning their weddings to find you. This guide walks you through everything, from creating your account to managing your requests. Plan on about twenty minutes in total, roughly three of them for the service form.

Before You Start

• Publishing is free. Mariez charges a 5% commission only on deposits that a couple pays through the platform. On a $500 deposit, you receive $475 and Mariez keeps $25. Couples pay no extra fees.
• Deposits are transferred after 7 days. The funds stay on the platform account during that window, in case a dispute has to be settled.
• You reply to requests within 48 business hours. This is one of the Marketplace rules, and a fast reply is also what wins a couple over.
• You must be 18 or older to open an account.

Step 1: Create Your Account

1. Go to the sign-up page.
2. Enter your first name, last name, email, a password of at least 8 characters, and your date of birth, then accept the terms.
3. Use a permanent email address. Disposable addresses are rejected.
4. Open the confirmation email and click the link. Do not skip this step: until your email is confirmed, your service stays a draft and is not visible (see Step 4).

After confirming, you land on the plans page. It is designed for couples organizing a wedding. The free plan is enough to publish a service: pick it, or go straight to the publishing page. You can change plans later from your profile settings.

Already have a Mariez account as a couple? Use the same account. You do not need a second one to publish a service.

Step 2: Accept the Marketplace Rules

The first time you try to publish, a "Before you continue" screen shows the essentials:

• accurate listings and honest pricing;
• a non-refundable deposit, except if the vendor cancels;
• the 5% commission on deposits.

Read the full rules, then click I accept and continue. You only do this once, unless the rules change.

Two rules deserve special attention: the displayed price must match the real price, and it is prohibited to ask for direct payment to get around the platform after a first contact through Mariez.

Step 3: Publish Your Service

The form on the publishing page has five steps. You can go back at any time.

1. Presentation

• Business name: at least 2 characters.
• Category: photography, videography, venue, catering, music and DJ, floral, beauty, planning, decor, officiant, transport, or other.
• Description: between 40 and 3,000 characters. Say what you do, who it is for, and what sets you apart. Avoid putting your contact details or an invitation to pay outside the platform in it.

2. Location

• Province and city. The "Use my location" button can fill them in for you.
• Service areas: separate them with commas, for example "Montreal, Laval, South Shore". This is what makes you appear in searches by area.
• Service languages: French, English, or both (at least one).

3. Contact

• Contact email and phone (both required). Phone format: +1 514 555-1234.
• Website, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok (optional).

4. Pricing

• Starting price (in Canadian dollars): this is the price shown in search results, so be realistic.
• Availability: for example "Available on weekends, book 6 months ahead".
• Packages: up to 6 simple packages, each with a name, a price, and what is included.
• FAQ: answer in advance the questions couples always ask.

5. Media

Add up to 10 images, each under 25 MB. Choose your best photos: they decide whether a couple clicks on your listing. Put your strongest image first.

Then click Publish service.

Step 4: What Happens After You Submit

Depending on your situation, your service follows one of these paths:

• Email not confirmed: the service is saved as a draft, invisible. Confirm your email, then republish.
• Account under 7 days old and already 3 published services: publishing is refused. Wait until your account is 7 days old.
• Usual case: the service is submitted for review. It is published automatically within 24 hours, and our team can suspend it afterwards if it breaks the rules.
• Verified vendor (payments enabled or verified by our team): the service is published right away.

In the usual case, publishing is automatic, unless your description shows signs of getting around the platform, or one of your services was rejected before. Our team then reviews it by hand, which can take a little longer.

Once published, a service stays out of search engine results such as Google for 48 hours. It is visible in the Marketplace immediately.

Step 5: Enable Payments to Receive Deposits

To send quotes with a deposit, you need to enable payments. On your dashboard, click Enable payments. You are sent to Stripe, our payment partner, for an identity check of about 3 minutes. If you stop halfway, the button becomes Resume verification.

When the check is done, the dashboard shows "Payments enabled". This also makes you a verified vendor, with a badge on your listing and direct publishing for your future services.

Your identity details and bank information are entered directly with Stripe, not on Mariez.

Step 6: See and Manage Your Services

Your vendor dashboard brings everything together:

• My services: your services with their status, views, requests, and bookings. The Edit button opens the form. Note that saving a change publishes the service again.
• Needs your attention: new requests and quotes waiting for your reply.
• Blocked dates: mark the days you are unavailable so you do not get requests for them. You can also import your calendar in iCal format.
• Statistics: conversion rate, booked value, average rating, and a funnel of your requests from inquiry to booking.

Your conversations with couples are in your inbox. That is where you send a quote with a deposit.

Step 7: See the Marketplace Like a Couple

Open the Marketplace while logged out, or in a private window, and search for your own category and area. You will see what couples see: filters for category, city, service area, language, and rating, and sorting by newest, most viewed, best rated, or price.

Ask yourself three questions:

• Does my first photo make people want to click?
• Is my starting price clear and honest?
• Does my description answer the questions a couple has before writing to me?

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Forgetting to confirm your email. The service stays an invisible draft.
• A description that is too short. The minimum is 40 characters, but aim for a few paragraphs.
• Images that are too large. Each image must be under 25 MB.
• A displayed price that differs from the real price. This breaks the rules and can lead to suspension.
• Offering to be paid outside the platform. It is prohibited and slows down the approval of your listings.
• Leaving requests unanswered. The expected delay is 48 business hours.

Does it cost anything to publish?

No. Mariez only takes 5% of the deposits couples pay through the platform.

How long before my service is visible?

In most cases, within 24 hours of submitting it. If you are a verified vendor, publishing is immediate.

Can I publish several services?

Yes. During the first 7 days of an account, the maximum is 3 published services. The limit no longer applies after that.

I made a mistake in my listing. Can I fix it?

Yes, with Edit on your dashboard. Saving publishes the service again.
